Choosing the Right Acne Skin Care
Products and Treatments

Today, you have thousands of acne skin care products to choose from. That is good, but it is also bad. With so many choices, it is hard to find the best acne treatment for your acne condition. No one has the same acne condition. No one has the same type of skin. A trial and error approach to treating acne is often as frustrating as the acne condition itself.

There is an old saying that a rifle produces better results than a shotgun. In the same vein, you must get very focused on your specific acne condition. Take a little time to learn as much as you can about your acne condition. Is it body acne, acne scars, acne during pregnancy, facial acne or a combination of several types of acne? Once you get a good focus on what you want to achieve, you are more likely to be successful in your efforts to clear your acne.

There are two approaches to clearing acne. You can use oral medications on your skin in conjunction with a good acne skin care routine or you can take internal medications to fight the cause of the acne. Sometimes, you have to use a combination of both approaches. However, research shows natural acne treatments produce better and more lasting results.

Acne Oral Medications

Accutane is a very popular oral medication. It has been highly effective, but it does have some drawbacks. Accutane tends to overly dry your lip, nose, eyes and skin. In order to overcome that problem, use Vaseline to prevent cracking, peeling and nosebleeds. Also, use a good skin moisturizer to soften the skin. Once you stop using Accutane, the dry skin problems go away.

When you use a topical solution, be sure to use a gentle, oil-free acne product. Over time, you can increase the dosage as needed. Almost all acne products you rub on your skin increase the dryness of the skin. So, be careful, especially when you start.

Most successful acne treatments contain either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. These ingredients have shown to be very effective in treating acne. Double-check the label of any acne product you are considering to see if it contains one of these ingredients.

There is one word of caution about benzoyl peroxide. The strength of the product ranges from 2.5% to 10% benzoyl peroxide solution. In this products case, less is better. Research shows a 2.5% solution is much more effective. It does not dry out your skin nearly as much as the 10% solution.

Acne Internal Medications

Research has shown that a large percent of people have benefited from natural internal acne medications. A large study showed over 70% of the participants cured their acne using AcnEase. This is an internal medicine designed to attack the cause of acne, not acne skin outbreaks. AcnEase is a coated tablet, which treats both body and facial acne. The company reports that it will not aggravate your skin. It also says there are no restrictions for sun exposure.

The best time to start learning about the best acne skin care products and treatments is today. The quicker you treat acne, the better. This website will give you a good start.
